I had so much fun being in the mountains with my grandpa and kids last week that I talked my dad into going with me to Snowbird again on Saturday. Keith had to work and then wanted to work on his jeep. Unfortunately, he wouldn't have wanted to come anyway.
We got all day passes and had tons of fun on the alpine slide, zip line, tram, ski lift, bungee trampoline, and rock climbing. I was going to take my kids to Lagoon this summer (an amusement park) but I don't think I will anymore because this is so much better!
We took the tram to the top of the mountain, then hiked south for about a third of a mile to the first switchback that took us back north towards the new tunnel they built for skiers. Our hike ended up being about a mile. It was worth every second. My kids are great hikers and did a great job. They broke down for about 10 minutes when we were trying to get a certain picture, but then they snapped out of it and were good again.
Since I am normally behind the camera, here is a rare picture of me. Thanks Dad.
One of my FAVORITE things to do is to hike up to the snow on a super hot day. It was close to 100 in the valley but there is still snow on the top of the mountain :)
Here is where the kids broke down. Luke had to go to the bathroom and didn't want to go where we were. Megan just got cranky because I had her sit on a rock surrounded by flowers and she didn't want to. It's too bad because it would have been such an amazing picture. Fortunately, they snapped out of it fairly quick and we had a great day.
What a cute guy. Later that night he lost another tooth on the bottom.
I love looking at the skiing signs and remembering what everything looks like in the winter.
Here is a picture of the tunnel. It's so much fun to ski to this tunnel in the winter. When you get there, you ski right onto a moving sidewalk that takes you all the way to the other side.
Taking the ski lift from the tunnel was GREAT! Oh, it's so beautiful up there. The view from the ski lift is so gorgeous and you can see so much while you sail down the mountain. I love it!
Here is my dad on the zip line. I got to try it later too. What a fun ride!!!
Dad, thank you so much for helping me with the kids. It was really fun to be with you. I miss all of our outdoor adventures from the days before I had kids.

Gorgeous pictures! Beautiful!! What a cute family!
Jill, I know that song! There's a woman in our homeschool group and she hosts "Rounds Parties" and invites all sorts of people and we all get together and sing rounds. It's SO FUN!!
I have never heard of a Rounds Party. That actually sounds like a lot of fun. My kind of party for sure.
