Group Picture

My family is loud. Keith's family is not. Keith's family is quiet and reserved. While there are definite advantages to being loud (by loud I mean getting things done quick at all costs) I get nervous I'm obnoxious sometimes. Taking this picture made me nervous because I totally took over and made everyone get in the picture. I didn't want to be too "loud" so I took the picture really quick in an effort not to keep people waiting too long. I didn't even wait for some of the kids or anyone who ran away from the camera as I normally do. There are a lot of people missing in this photo. Still, I was nervous I was taking over too much and in my hurry to get the picture didn't notice the stroller in the foreground of the picture! Geez. Oh well. Unfortunately this is the main family picture from the runion, we never got another because Keith's aunt Anita left the next morning. I would have done much better if I would have realized that, but hopefully everyone will be happy with this picture.

I love Keith's family and I'm so grateful I married into such an amazing group of people. They are all so good to me, easy to talk to and enjoyable to be with.

BTW - I didn't take many pictures of Wayne's family. I totally regret that. I hope someone else did.

More Family Reunion Pictures

Family pictures are a big deal to me so you may see a couple more posts on the reunion still. I think personal and family history are really important so I love to document these types of things. Below are a sample of many of my favorite pictures. I have more pictures some of you (family) will want to see. I'll make sure you all have access to a downloadable zip file with all of the high resolution pictures soon.

I'm not sure if this picture is neat to anyone but me, but I like it a lot. This is at the Napels Cemetery. Many of us went to the cemetery during our family reunion to let the kids put flowers on their great grandfather's grave. I have much more to write about this at another time.

Aren't these guys cute? Luke loved this "rock". It's part of the great playground where we had our family reunion. Luke's shoulders were sore from climbing it so much.

Family Reunion Frog

We just got back from the Pope Reunion in Vernal, UT. It was a great three days with about 65 awesome people. I have a lot of pictures to share in future posts, but here are the first. This cute frog was living in a little puddle near our pavilion. If you want one of these pictures to print, wait for a while and I'll give everyone all the high resolution files.

Hiking

1

I've been hiking three times in the past couple weeks. It's been so much fun! I have always liked to hike. I love all of the great moms and kids I've been able to go with so far. I have a lot more pictures I'd like to share, but here are a few to start with.

Amber, I need to call you to go hiking next. Maybe next week? If anyone else wants to go they can always come, just let me know and I'll tell you when we are going.

Chocolate, Trains and the Cemetery

I wasn't sure how to title this post so I copied Mindee's title. Weird title mix isn't it? You can read about our day on her blog post. It was a lot of fun.

I love how much Megan loves Mindee. It's so cute to see them talking. I don't blame Megan for liking Mindee so much. She is incredible.

We had a great time smashing some coins (mostly pennies). I only had the small camera so the picture is a bit blurry. Smashing pennies is one of the memories that really stands out to me from my childhood. My grandparents (or at least my Grandma Thorup) took us to ride the Heber Creeper and to smash pennies. I loved it and still have my penny glued in my journal.

Going to the cemetery might seem a little strange to some, but I think it's neat. Mindee wanted to go to the SLC cemetery to see where some of our past prophets were buried and I was happy to go with her. We found President Hinkley's grave right across the street from my great grandparents. I never got to meet this grandpa, but I did get to know this great grandma. We called her Grandma Onie (own-ie). Apparently, we were told we could call her Grandma Leona, but Angie or I couldn't say her name right and it stuck as Grandma Onie. I only have a few memories of her. I remember she had a candy dish in her house in the front room. I also remember her in an assisted living place for a while. We got to sit in a wheelchair when we visited her there and I remember that being really exciting. I was only 6 when she died, so I don't remember much, but I'm glad I do remember her.
